About Intramural Curling
Curling is a team sport, played on ice, in which players take turns sliding large granite “stones” towards a target area. Teammates can sweep the ice to manipulate the distance and/or direction of the stone. Teams score points by having the closest stone to the center of the target.
No skates or skating ability is required. Players wear clean sneakers along with provided curling footwear.
Schedule
Regular season begins Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022. Games are on Sunday evenings starting at 6 p.m.
Practice/Learn to Curl session available for teams registered before Sept. 18, 2022.
Uniform and Gear Requirements
All equipment is provided. Participants are required to wear a clean pair of sneakers on the ice.
Game Format
Syracuse University’s Intramural Curling League competes on the Studio Ice during the school year. This sheet is approximately 60% of the length of a full-size curling sheet. Our league is doubles format and games have a 45-minute time limit.
