Dissertation Defense: Phillandra Smith

The oral doctoral examination of Phillandra Smith, candidate for the Ph.D. degree will be held on Friday, July 15, at 10 a.m. in Zoom.

Smith’s advisor is Professor Beth Ferri. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Beth Myers, Eunjung Kim, Marcelle Haddix and Kal Alston. Professor Vivian May will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “White Out: An Analysis of Presentations of Race and Ethnicity in U.S. Inclusive Education Textbooks.”
