Pride Month is an annual event to honor the Stonewall Riots, which started on June 28th in 1969 in Manhattan, New York. This uprising is a monumental moment in LGBTQI+ history in the United States. On campus, Syracuse University Libraries is also celebrating Pride Month by sharing some of our queer fiction and queer studies collections with the university community!
Stop by Bird Library 1st floor during the month of June to see the variety of fiction and other books we’ve pulled for you, and check out our online display on our Pride Month research guide.
Display materials were curated by graduate students Ocean Noah (M.F.A. candidate in creative Writing, College of Arts and Sciences) and McKenzie Rybka (M.M. candidate in vocal performance, College of Visual and Performing Arts). Ocean works in the Libraries’ Department of Learning and Academic Engagement at the Bird Library Information Desk and McKenzie works in the Libraries’ Department of Research and Scholarship with the collections team.
