Dissertation Defense: Kyle Spurgeon

The oral doctoral examination of Kyle Spurgeon, candidate for the Ph.D. degree will be held on Thursday, June 16, at 2 p.m. in the Physics Building, room 202.

Spurgeon’s advisor is Professor Denver Whittington. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Mitchell Soderberg, Steve Blusk, Walter Freeman and Jack Laiho. Professor William Wylie will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Characterization of Scintillation Light in Large Liquid Argon Detectors and the Implications on Proton Decay Searches.”
