Abstract: Many students are not sure what to expect in the first years of their professional careers. This seminar will focus on the role that young engineers have in various transportation projects, which are often large by nature and involve many people from various disciplines and companies. It is important that young engineers understand the part they will be expected to play in these projects. The presentation highlights the major projects I was part of, challenges, and the transition from a college student to a full-time engineer. In addition, this seminar will also touch on topics such as the current job market in the transportation industry and challenges of international students.
