The Student of Color Leadership Retreat provides a space for students to build leadership skills, connect with campus partners and find new ways to discover themselves and their cultures. The retreat was founded by Don Sawyer and started for students who identify as being a student of color.
This year’s annual retreat will focus on “self-care beyond a spa day,” allowing students to “Recenter and Refocus,” which is the theme of the retreat. The retreat is scheduled April 8-10 at Camp Stella Maris. Students will partake in a retreat focused on mindfulness and wellness both internally and externally as it pertains to their varying cultures and backgrounds.
The deadline to apply is March 25, at 11:59 p.m. All applications will be reviewed and participants will be notified by email shortly after the deadline with next steps.
The Student of Color Leadership Retreat is in its 22nd year of existence at Syracuse University, and proudly presented by the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee within Student Living and supporting campus partnerships.
