Political and social changes, including in the military, currency, foreign policy, and languages in West Africa have brought up questions of what is next for the region and the continent. The Africa Initiative is excited to host three distinguished guests to have an interdisciplinary conversation about the historical and contemporary realities in the region. Our speakers will provide a history of military rule in the region, in relation to (anti)imperialism, the war on terror, and political life.

Speakers:

  • Amber Murrey, Associate Professor
  • Kassim Kone, Professor
  • Marcel Kitissou, Professor
