Join us for a conversation about how we can work together to make a more open and inclusive community in physics with Syracuse University Ombuds, Neal Powless.
Title: I’m More “woke” than you: How are microaggressions still happening in the midst of an evolving “woke” culture?
Abstract
The Syracuse University Ombuds will be drawing upon some of the issues he sees come through his office as well as his experience while working for the Office of Multicultural Affairs to discuss microaggressions. As a group we will define what it means to be “woke,” woke culture, and microaggressions to understand how these things are still happening at Syracuse. There will be some presentation and interactive dialogue with participants. This is an event for those who don’t know, think they know and especially for those who think they already know enough about this topic.
