East Goes Global is an industry leader in connecting entertainment power players to their fans in China. After noticing a gap between China and the Western world, alumnus Andrew Spalter ’15 created the vertically integrated agency in 2018. East Goes Global specializes in connecting musicians, actors, gamers, sport teams, athletes and brands to the world’s fastest-growing consumer market in China, which is valued at $5.7 trillion dollars. Connecting with China, one-fifth of the world’s population, leaves the company with endless opportunities.

With a continued mission to bridge the gap between China and the Western world, East Goes Global has closed their first ever fundraising round, exclusively extended to investors via invite-only. Notable investors include global superstars Jessie J, FLETCHER, Ingrid Andress, Jessie Reyez and talent manager Larry Rudolph. The new capital accelerates East Goes Global’s ability to build out their SaaS platform, currently being beta-tested, as well as onboarding strategic hires to further growth.

Most recently, East Goes Global executive produced a historic event with legendary boy band Backstreet Boys, giving fans the performance of a lifetime across messaging, social and banking app WeChat. Sponsored by Lincoln, the free event surpassed the initial projections of 40 million viewers, with an unbelievable, record-breaking 44.2 million in digital attendance. As a surprise to fans, Backstreet Boys were joined by Irish boy band Westlife who previously held the first-ever western WeChat performance and garnered 28 million viewers. Their duet of ‘My Love’ quickly became the No. 1 trending topic in China.

East Goes Global has an impressive growing roster, including Will Smith, John Legend, The Chainsmokers, Phoenix Suns, Philadelphia 76ers, Ninja and Cloud9 eSports. In total, the agency has secured a collective following of over 100 million people across Chinese social media platforms. Through strategic use of social media and marketing campaigns, East Goes Global is able to bridge gaps between Western social media and social media in China and connect clients to a much larger audience than ever before.

Today, Spalter employs more than 15 people across Los Angeles, New York City, Beijing and Shanghai.
