The oral doctoral examination of Maria Smith, candidate for the Ph.D. degree will be held on Wednesday, November 30, at 4 p.m. in Zoom.

Smith’s advisor is Professor Guido Pezzarossi. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Shannon Novak, Azra Hromadžić, Theresa Singleton and Parker VanValkenburgh. Professor Karl Offen will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Weaving Subjects at the Obraje de Chincheros: Indigenous Contributions to the Colonial Aesthetic.”
