The Office of Research will host the accommodation specialist and director & ADA coordinator in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion for the workshop “Making Your Presentations Inclusive: Big Responsibilities and Little Tricks for Accessibility.” This workshop will provide an interactive, one-hour introduction to practices you can implement to proactively make your research presentations more inclusive for audience members with disabilities. People with disabilities are often an afterthought when it comes to planning events, leading to unnecessary barriers to full inclusion. These practices will include, in part, suggestions for PowerPoints, color, contrast, image descriptions, and alternative text, captions and video choice, disability language choice, ASL interpreting and CART services, and event planning. Resources and Takeaways will be provided to assist you with your inclusive presentation efforts going forward.

Communication Access Real-time Translation (CART) services will be provided. Please contact cchianes@syr.edu to request additional accommodations by October 5, 2022.
