Kashi has created projects for National Geographic\, The New Yorker and MSNBC\, and his work is in the collections of major institutions including the International Center of Photography\, George Eastman House and the Library of Congress.  \nA selection of Kashi’s photographs\, drawn from his projects “Aging in America: The Years Ahead\,” “Curse of the Black Gold: 50 Years of Oil in the Niger Delta” and “In the Hot Zones: Investigating Chronic Kidney Disease of Non-traditional Causes\,” will be featured in a pop-up exhibition\, “Ed Kashi: Advocacy Journalism\,” on view Oct. 24-30.   \nThe workshop will provide Syracuse University faculty and graduate students with key information and pedagogical tools that will help them to teach with Kashi’s work\, and with related objects in the museum’s collection.   \nKashi will co-teach the workshop\, which includes:   \n\nAn introduction to Kashi’s career and practice \n\n\nVisual literacy exercises focused on Kashi’s photographs as well as related photographs from the museum’s collection \nPracticum exploring how participants can use photography in their own scholarship and teaching \n\nThe workshop has a capacity of 12 people.   \nEligibility    \nOpen to Syracuse University tenure track faculty\, non-tenure track faculty\, part-time faculty and graduate teaching assistants who are teaching during the 2022-2023 academic year.   \nApplication Instructions    \nTo apply\, contact suart@syr.edu no later than 5 p.m. EST Oct. 14.
