Jason Corwin (University at Buffalo)
This workshop invites aspiring digital storytellers and media producers from Onondaga Nation, Syracuse University and SUNY ESF into a discussion of the importance of aesthetics and craft in storytelling across media. Dr. Corwin — filmmaker, Indigenous Studies Professor, and member of the Seneca Nation, Deer Clan — leads an interactive exploration of the elements of stories that move people to action, with focus on filmmaking in pursuit of environmental justice.
While this workshop is open to the public, space is limited. Please register by 10/14/22 and include any accessibility accommodation requests.
NOTE: Corwin’s public lecture on Oct. 27 kicks off a year-long storytelling series organized by the Engaged Humanities Network, also featured within this year’s Syracuse Symposium on “Repair.”
