Join us this Latinx Hispanic Heritage Month for our Café con Leche Series. This series allows students, student organizations, programs and departments to engage in conversation with members of the Syracuse community. Topics range from issues affecting Latinos and other racial, ethnic and cultural communities in topics ranging from education, identity and more.
Join us for our Café con Leche discussion series on “Celebrating the First-Generation College Student Experience.” We invite our campus community to engage in a conversation about what it means to be a Latinx/o/a/é first-generation college student. Our featured speaker, Saul Flores, will be discussing his experience and facilitating our discussion.
About Saul Flores
Saul Flores (pronounced sah–ool) is a first-generation college student, philanthropist, photojournalist and speaker who is nationally recognized for his social impact projects. Through his most recent project, Saul documents the amazing lives of thousands of Latin American immigrants to fundraise for an elementary school in his mother’s hometown. His work has been featured on NPR, MSNBC and TEDx. Additionally, Saul has been featured as a keynote speaker for dozens of universities, inspiring audiences through his visual presentations in which he helps people realize the capacity of their immense human potential in times of extreme adversity.
