The oral doctoral examination of Rui Xu, candidate for the Ph.D. degree will be held on Thursday, April 6, at 4:45 p.m. via Zoom.
Xu’s advisor is Professor Alfonso Flores-Lagunes. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Xintong Wang, Hugo Jales, Maria Zhu and Gary Engelhardt. Professor Ying Shi will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Essays on the Gender Wage Gap in China and the Returns to Higher Education in the United States.”
