THIS IS SYRACUSE: Windows Into the Community

“THIS IS SYRACUSE: Windows into the Community” showcases a selection of the diverse peoples, creative and scholarly activities, and landmark institutions that contribute to what makes Syracuse, Syracuse. Curators from the graduate program in museum studies engaged with both well-established and newly established and thriving communities, including members representing the Ukrainian, Irish, Indian, and Thai populations. The collected stories of these communities on display are illustrated through an equally diverse array of objects and images–from the contemporary photography of Yehor Drobontenko and Rosely Htoo, and artwork by Nada Odeh, to the voices of the sizable population of international students, and Irish cultural objects representing one of the most established heritage communities in the city.
