The Moynihan Institute and the Center for European Studies are happy to have rescheduled a talk with Andrea Kendall-Taylor, senior fellow and director of the Transatlantic Security Program at the Center for a New American Security.

One year into Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine, it is evident that the Kremlin’s military capabilities have fallen far short of Putin’s political ambitions. The Russian military’s poor performance, botched mobilization, mounting casualties, economic challenges resulting from the sanctions and export controls, and increasingly visible elite fissures have raised questions about political stability inside Russia.

This discussion will assess Putin’s hold on power, along with other long-term questions like what we should expect from a post-Putin Russia.
