April 28, 2023 at 3:00pm – 4:00pm EDT
Lyman Hall, 126
This event has already occurred. The information may no longer be valid.
During the TA orientation, the Teaching Mentor team cover a wide breadth of topics that Teaching Assistants will (and have) encountered in our classrooms and labs. We now present the Teaching Assistant Coffee Hour, a space where we will dive deeper into some of these themes.
TAs will have an opportunity to share their experiences with peers and collaboratively workshop through challenges you’ve faced in your own experiences with teaching mentors and peers!
We hope you join us on the last Friday of each month in Lyman Hall 126 to meet peers from different disciplines across campus, share your experience, listen to others’ experiences, and learn new strategies to implement in your classes! Light refreshments will be provided.
To register for these workshops, please email me directly (scloner@syr.edu).
Using student evaluations to reflect on your teaching
April 28, 2023, 3:00-4:00 pm:
With the end of the semester approaching, this coffee hour will be a space to discuss the pros and cons of student evaluations. We will workshop through effective ways to use the student evaluations to reflect on our teaching over the past semester and identify areas we can develop in our next TA appointments!
