The Syracuse University Psychological Services Center is pleased to be offering a no-cost, body positivity workshop, The Body Project, for girls and young women ages 12-24. Decades of research indicate the program improves body image and reduces the incidence of eating disorders in girls and young women. The program is designed for girls and women who struggle with the very common problem of body image dissatisfaction. The workshop allows participants to confront unrealistic appearance ideals and develop ways of speaking, acting and writing that support body acceptance and self-esteem.
The virtual workshop is 4 sessions in total and will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. each Thursday from February 2 through February 23. Participants will be grouped by age (Group A: ages 12-17, Group B: ages 18-24).
For more information on the program, please contact Heather Pierson at hmpierso@syr.edu or 315.443.3595.
