In effort to celebrate one of the most policed aspects of Black culture and beauty, the Black History Month Committee at Syracuse University will host a State of the Black Hair Experience to highlight artwork glorifying Black hair trends. Vendors will be present, while stylists provide an opportunity to perform demonstrations so we can all learn a thing or two about how to protect the crown.
This is an interactive experience for stylists to perform and demonstrate on hair. Some stylists will offer free haircuts (fades) and braids, while others will show you how to do lineups, box braids, locs, cornrows, natural curls, etc.
We are also looking for hair models who would like to participate for free. If interested, please fill out the registration form (ONLY for interested people who want to get their hair done).
All are invited to attend and enjoy the experience!
