Scott McCloud ’82 will present a lecture as part of the School of Art’s Visiting Artist Lecture Series. McCloud is the award-winning author and comics theorist whose work includes the highly influential “Understanding Comics,” “Making Comics,” “Zot!” and other fiction and nonfiction comics spanning 30 years. He’s a frequent lecturer on the power of visual communication; creator of the 24-Hour Comic movement; and, in 2021, was inducted into the Eisner Awards Hall of Fame. His art and stories are available in over 30 languages and on the web at scottmccloud.com. His most recent graphic novel is “The Sculptor” from First Second Books.
McCloud graduated from the School of Art in 1982 with a B.F.A. in illustration.
