SeQuoia Kemp (Sankofa Reproductive Health and Healing Center)
Using the social technology of a healing circle, SeQuoia Kemp, community health activist and poet, will facilitate a unique opportunity for members of the Syracuse community to address intergenerational trauma in service of gaining greater reproductive justice for all. No experience with healing circles is necessary for attendance, as the first part of the event will explain what one is and sharing in the circle is voluntary. There will also be time to write and reflect in small groups. The event will culminate with a call to action, songs, and information about community resources.
Link to more info / registration page (please register by 2/6/23 and include any accessibility accommodation requests).
Kemp also offers a public talk on Feb. 16 at the Nancy Cantor Warehouse Community Room.
This event is part of Syracuse Symposium’s year-long series on “Repair.”
