Syracuse University presents I Thought I Knew, an exhibition of thesis work by 7 M.F.A. students from the Department of Film and Media Arts and School of Art, curated by Rodrigo Guzman-Serrano. The exhibition will be open from Friday June 2nd- Sunday June 11th at Ortega y Gasset Projects.

I Thought I Knew brings together artists from disciplines including ceramics, computer art, painting, photography, and sculpture in conversation through shared and faceted understandings of the body, the world, and the future, posing questions about the paradoxical familiarity and strangeness of each. These works navigate familiar themes and concerns, but do so charily and subtly, threading the proverbial needle between conceptual exploration, material experimentation, personal histories, more-than-human connections, and the place of situated subjectivity in the world at large. Participating artists include David De Lira, Jason Eppink, Zherong Hu, Qianjin Men, Wanda-Marie Rana, Daisy Wiley, and Mengru Zhou.
