Dissertation Defense: Yu Tian

The oral doctoral examination of Yu Tian, candidate for the Ph.D. degree will be held on Wednesday, June 28, at 9 a.m. via Zoom.

Tian’s advisor is Professor Lars Willnat. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Makana Chock, Bradley Gorham, Regina Luttrell and Erika Schneider. Professor Emily Thorson will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Overconfident and Gullible? Examining News-Finds-Me, Affective Polarization, Third-Person Bias, and Susceptibility to Online Fake News.”
