This virtual event is part of a series of lightning talks to highlight Engineering and Computer Science research and faculty’s interests in collaboration. Each faculty member will present for 10 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A. There will be 30 minutes at the end of the session for additional discussion.
Yaoying Wu: Self-Assembling Nanofiber Vaccine Platform: Design, Immunogenicity, And Cancer Vaccine Therapy
Keywords for expertise: cellular immunobiology, vaccinology, self-assembling peptide design, polymer design
Areas for collaboration: microbiology, protein design, glycochemistry, bioinformatics, metabolism
Min Liu: Explore and Exploit Human and Technology Interactions
Keywords for expertise: construction engineering and management, lean construction, productivity, infrastructure, workflow reliability
Areas for collaboration: data analysis, computer vision, AI, virtual reality
Kasey Laurent: The impact of turbulence on natural and artificial flight
Keywords for expertise: fluids/aerodynamics
Areas for collaboration: Laurent would love to work with colleagues who are interested in how fluids play a role in evolutionary biology and/or those interested in designing manned systems that can operate in turbulent environments (i.e. colleagues who do controls or vehicle design)
Natarajan Gautam: Data Analytics and Engineering Decisions
Keywords for expertise: stochastic modeling; machine learning; queues; networks; control and optimization; forecasting; applied probability
Areas for collaboration: cyber-physical systems; Internet-of-Things; microgrids; data-centers; transportation and logistics; smart-manufacturing
