La L.U.C.H.A is celebrating 33 years of impact and education at Syracuse University! Latinx Undergraduates Creating History in America (La L.U.C.H.A.) was founded at the University in 1989 to raise Latinx-based cultural awareness, foster local, national and international activism, and unite marginalized communities on Syracuse University’s campus. The anniversary gala will celebrate La L.U.C.H.A’s history at Syracuse, unite Latinx community members and acknowledge registered student organizations (RSOs) and community members that embody La L.U.C.H.A’s mission statement of education, empowerment, culture, involvement, unity and passion. Programming will feature student performances and an overview of La L.U.C.H.A’s history, and distribution of awards for Education, Empowerment, Culture, Involvement, Unity and Passion, followed by dinner, Latinx student performances and dancing.
The gala aims to join Syracuse University students in learning about Latinx history at Syracuse and encourage students to participate in Latinx culture.
