Join the Special Collections Research Center’s graduate curatorial and instruction assistants, Caroline Charles and Jessica Terry-Elliott, along with Jana Rosinski for a conversation on using archival exhibitions as teaching tools and as reimagined forms of scholarship. This workshop offers an opportunity to tour A Love Supreme: Black Cultural Expression and Political Activism of the 1960s and 1970s with the co-curators and to learn how this exhibition is serving as a launch pad for student learning. Caroline and Jessica will share the strategies they’ve developed for introducing students to primary source analysis and guide participants in how to access the SCRC’s collections. This workshop will offer space for participants to brainstorm and develop primary source-based pedagogy within and across their disciplines and in their own courses.
