In this interactive public event and follow-up workshop, Ahmed Badr and Ruth Łchavaya K’isen Miller use poetry, music and dialogue to demonstrate and advocate for narrative sovereignty in the pursuit of environmental justice. They explore the ways in which narrative sovereignty takes different forms and expressions across their respective communities and offer examples of the work of communities to control their own stories related to environmental crisis and resilience and to build structures that emphasize and reinforce individual and community agency in storytelling for climate action.
