The Alexia Fall Workshop 2023

Held from Oct. 12-15, the Alexia Fall Workshop 2023 brings in top professionals from around the country to join our professors as we push students to identify, observe and artfully communicate the core of who we are and the issues we face in everyday life by producing projects over the weekend. In the process, students learn to better use still photography, video, audio, design and words to become exceptional storytellers who engage in our community.

The 22 coaches-including Pulitzer Prize winning photographers, National Geographic photographers, visual editors from The Washington Post, visual leaders from NPR and more – volunteer their time along with 20 faculty, staff and volunteers. Nearly 100 students participate, and students often refer to this experience as one of the most formative of their time here at Newhouse. They build strong relationships with professionals, and forge friendships with their peers that will last a lifetime.

Thursday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. – Deanne Fitzmaurice presents in the Herg, “Luck is a State of Mind”

Friday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. – Corey Rich presents in the Herg “Stories Behind the Images: Lessons from a Life in Adventure Photography”

Sunday, Oct. 15 at 12 p.m. – Student photographic exhibit in the hallways near Food.com, 2nd floor NH3
