Peer Observation of Teaching for TAs and Future Faculty: Part 2

Friday, October 20, 1:00-2:15

Peer observation of teaching by graduate students can inform and energize your current teaching, build an important skill you will need as a faculty member, strengthen your job-search materials and ability to highlight your teaching in interviews, and yield documents to include in your teaching portfolio (e.g., for the Certificate in University Teaching or Teaching Mentor application).

In Part 2 of this interactive, online FPP/TA Program workshop, facilitated by Dr. Laurel Willingham-McLain (CTLE), participants will learn and practice techniques to

  • conduct the teaching observation using basic, practical observation tools;
  • approach the post-observation conversation.

Come join our lively discussion on this important component of teaching and future faculty success. Registrants who did not attend Part 1 will be asked to watch a video of that session prior to participating in Part 2.
