Led by Multicultural Affairs\, students\, faculty and staff have opportunities to learn about the history\, culture and contributions of Americans whose ancestry can be traced to over 20 Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America\, including Mexico\, Central and South America\, and the Caribbean. Alongside campus partners\, celebrations include performances\, networking\, sporting events and more. \nThis year\, the naming has shifted from “Latinx” to “Latine.” Latine is a gender-neutral form of the word Latino\, created by gender non-binary and feminist communities in Spanish-speaking countries. The objective of the term is to remove gender from Spanish\, by replacing it with the gender-neutral Spanish letter E\, which can already be found in words like estudiante. \nPlease access the full schedule of events below: \n\nSept. 15: Latine Heritage Month Information Fair\nSept. 15: Latine Heritage Month Opening Ceremony\nSept. 15: “Futurismo Latino” Exhibit Opening Event\nSept. 16: Torneo de Fútbol\nSept. 21: Café con Leche: Salsa Workshop\nSept. 26: Café con Leche: Exploring AfroLatinidad\nSept. 28: Latine Game Night\nSept. 29: Point of Contact Exhibit and Artist Talk: “The Border is a Weapon”\nOct. 3: Café con Leche: Queer & Latine\nOct. 5: Orange After Dark: Latine Trivia\nOct. 6: Fiesta Latina\nOct. 12: Orange After Dark: Latine Grocery Bingo\nOct. 14: Calentón Music Fest 2023\nOct. 19: Latine Heritage Month and Fifth Annual LGBTQ+ History Month Potash Collaborative Keynote: Salina EsTitties URL: CATEGORIES:Diversity and Inclusion ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg: ORGANIZER;CN="Multicultural Affairs" END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
