This year’s Syracuse University Human Rights Film Festival opens with Angelo Madsen Minax’s documentary, in which he returns home to rural Michigan after the death of his niece. This poetic, nuanced portrait of a family navigating grief, addiction, and transgender identity invites post-screening Q&A with filmmaker.
This event is part of the Syracuse University Humanities Center’s 20th annual Syracuse Symposium, focused on a “Landscapes” theme for 2023-2024.
