This symposium encourages Syracuse graduate students (masters and doctoral) and postdocs to submit a proposal for research or creative scholarly work at any stage which engages bell hook’s social, cultural theories built upon the foundation of love. bell hooks, as cultural critic, black feminist theorist, activist, researcher, has touched us with her love for education, teaching, black girls, transformative change, black culture, and friendship. bell hooks asked the tough questions, and said the hard things (Bailey, 2022). Our work must do the same.
