Join legendary alum and media icon Bob Costas for a discussion about storytelling in sports. As one of the most recognizable sports broadcasters in the world, Costas has always been a journalist first, asking the tough questions and contextualizing the truth for viewers and listeners.

In this conversation moderated by Olivia Stomski, director of the Newhouse Sports Media Center, Costas will discuss various aspects of sports media, storytelling in sports, how social issues and sports often intersect and the ever-changing landscape of sports media. He will dive into issues beyond the event, the platform that sports media in America holds and the importance of journalism in sports broadcasting.

Leaders in Communications is a speaker series that brings media leaders, influencers and newsmakers to the Newhouse School for candid and insightful conversations with students and other guests. With a special emphasis on current trends and challenges, the series helps students keep apace of a quickly changing communications industry and provides them with a connection to the professions they will eventually lead. The series also offers valuable networking and learning opportunities, as guests visit classrooms or student organizations in addition to participating in the public conversation.
