Gil Rocha (Laredo Center for the Arts)
In this combination exhibit opening / artist talk, Juan Juarez (VPA) moderates conversation with Rocha, curator at Laredo Center for the Arts. They will be joined by a collective of Laredo, TX and Syracuse, NY artists to discuss The Border Is a Weapon, a multi-media art exhibit representing the different realities of a region divided by the Río Grande but united by culture, history, and its people .
This event is part of the Syracuse University Humanities Center‘s 20th annual Syracuse Symposium, focused on a “Landscapes” theme for 2023-2024.
