The Syracuse University Department of Physics is pleased to welcome David Nitz, one of the founding members of the Auger Collaboration. Nitz focuses on the Observatory instrumentation and, in particular, the design and implementation of the triggering system for the surface detector.
“The Pierre Auger Observatory: Recent Results & Future Plans”
Abstract:
The Pierre Auger Observatory is currently undergoing a major upgrade (AugerPrime). In this presentation, the Observatory will be described and selected results from data acquired before the changeover (Auger Phase 1) will be shown. The components of the upgrade will be described and an outlook for future data after completion of the upgrade (Auger Phase 2) will be discussed.
