In celebration of the Maxwell Centennial, the Syracuse Anthropology Symposium 2024 brings together a group of department alumni, current students and invited speakers to discuss the archaeology and heritage of Africa and African diaspora. The symposium will also recognize the contributions of Professor Emeritus Douglas V. Armstrong, who played a foundational role in the establishment of the historical archaeology program.
