Bring your curiosity and join us for an afternoon of cosmic wonder at the 2024 Solar Eclipse Viewing Event as a total solar eclipse crosses North America on Monday, April 8, 2024.
Hosted by the Department of Physics in collaboration with the College of Arts and Sciences, this event promises a great experience. Eclipse glasses and pinhole projectors will be available on the day of the event while supplies last. Syracuse University Libraries will also supply a device which turns light into sound to be broadcast at the event for guests who are visually impaired.
Engage with physics student experts who will lead make-and-take projects and demonstrations at various stations in the Quad. There will also be telescopes stationed by Carnegie Library, guided Holden Observatory tours and 15-minutes eclipse-related presentations at the Stolkin Auditorium.
Mark your calendars: Presentations at Stolkin will begin at 1:30 p.m., with other activities taking place from 2 p.m. through 4 p.m.
