The oral doctoral examination of Laura Hazel Jack, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, will be held on Monday, April 8, at 11:45 a.m. via Zoom.
Jack’s advisor is Professor Dawn Johnson. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Cathy McHugh Engstrom, and Marcelle Haddix. Professor Kal Alston will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Representation Matters: A Critical Discourse Analysis of Media Texts About Black Women College Presidents at Four-Year Institutions.”
