Led by Syracuse University staff and faculty, the WiSE Women of Color in STEM Self Advocacy workshop empowers Women of Color in STEM with strategies of self-advocacy and other ways of making their needs known. To accomplish this objective, we hope to (1) familiarize Women of Color in STEM with safe spaces and people who can help them navigate challenging situations and oppressive systems on the Syracuse University campus, (2) connect Women of Color in STEM with BIPOC women on campus working to create a more equitable environment and (3) connect Women of Color in STEM with culturally relevant and competent advocacy and mental health resources available on campus.
