Can’t Stop Change tells “the story of queer climate activists in Florida and their resistance to the intersecting oppressions of climate injustice, transphobia, and homophobia. This Earth Week, screen the brand new documentary, hear from one of the co-directors (Yarrow Koning), plus Q&A with Yarrow and one of the activists featured in the film (Jimmy Dunson, any pronouns, co-founder of Mutual Aid Disaster Relief).
As Florida’s violent legislation dominates headlines, LGBTQ2S+ communities are also on the frontlines of accelerating climate change. This feature length documentary weaves interviews with 14 LGBTQ25+ artists, organizers and educators across Florida (and the new Florida diaspora) into an intersectional climate justice narrative.
Cohosted by ESF’s Earth Week Committee, Office of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access (IDEA Office), MOSA Intersectional Collective (MOSAIC) , Student Environmental Education Coalition (SEEC), Department of Environmental Studies, Sexuality & Gender Alliance (SAGA), and the ESF Women’s Caucus
