Join the Barnes Center at The Arch’s Honwadiyenawa’sek (One Who Helps Them), Diane Schenandoah, for an art therapy session using clay. Art therapy is a creative process using creative techniques to help people to express themselves artistically and emotionally through creating, reflecting on the work created and connecting to personal insights.
To help explore oneself, in awareness, allows the mind the fluidity of thinking while working with materials. Creating can help students who may experience anxiety, trouble adjusting or increased stress to navigate present challenges utilizing strengths, needs and values.
Please note: Although this can be a beneficial alternative for creative thinkers or those who would like to try something different than traditional talk therapy, this is not an art class. Registration is required in order to have the correct amount of supplies.
This program is a special event for Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM).
