Dissertation Defense: Emily Pifer

The oral doctoral examination of Emily Pifer, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, will be held on Friday, August 9, , at 1 p.m. via Zoom.

Pifer’s advisor is Professor Eileen E. Schell. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Krista Kennedy, Brice Nordquist, and Charlotte Hogg. Professor Erin J. Rand will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Pulling Up the Tangled Roots of Rural Nostalgia: A Rhetorical Study of Story and Space, Nature and Nation.”
