Syracuse University Physics Emerging Research Technologies Summer High School Internship Program (SUPER-Tech SHIP) 2024

In 2022, Syracuse Physics partnered with the Syracuse City School District (SCSD) to launch a paid internship opportunity in physics research for local high school students. Inspired in part by SCSD graduate and Syracuse Physics major Ruell Branch, the department worked to recruit and bring high school students to our labs in the summer. Students are mentored by researchers and receive basic training in biophysics, computational skills and electronics skills.

Based on the initial successful program, Syracuse University was awarded funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF-IST-2347076) to expand the program, now called Syracuse University Physics Emerging Research Technologies Summer High School Internship Program (SUPER-Tech SHIP).

On Friday, August 9, 2024, the participants will showcase the results of their research in the culmination of our 6-week program during a final poster presentation session. Please join us as we celebrate their hard work and accomplishments. Light refreshments will be served.
