Dissertation Defense: Tony Chamoun

The oral doctoral examination of Tony Chamoun, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, will be held on Friday, December 6^th at 1 pm via Zoom.

Chamoun’s advisor is Professor Shannon A. Novak. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Azra Hromadžić, Guido Pezzarossi, Amy Aisen Kallander, Pamela L. Geller, and William J. Pestle. Professor Carol W. N. Fadda will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate’s dissertation is: “Estranged Bodies, Race, and Sectarianism: An Historical Bioarchaeology of Ottoman and French Beirut.”
