TA Program Coffee Hour: “Grading-Palooza”
December 13, 2024 at 2:00pm – 4:00pm EST
Lyman Hall, 303
During the TA orientation, the Teaching Mentor (TM) staff covers a wide breadth of topics that Teaching Assistants will (and have) encountered in their classrooms and labs. To continue these conversations, the TA Program announces the return of the Teaching Assistant Coffee Hour, an informal and friendly space where TMs and TAs can dive deeper into many TA-relevant themes. Each coffee hour will have a starting topic or theme, but the conversations can go wherever you like.
TAs will have an opportunity to share their experiences with peers and collaboratively workshop with a supportive group of teaching mentors and teaching assistants!
We hope you will join us each month to meet peers from different disciplines across campus to share your experiences, listen and learn from others, and discuss new strategies to implement in your classes! Light refreshments will be provided.
“Grading-Palooza”
With final exams and papers coming due, why grade in isolation when you can come and grade in a community of other graduate teaching assistants? Join Graduate School Teaching Mentors and other peers as we all commiserate, chat about how to grade most effectively and efficiently, and grade together! Snacks and, of course, coffee provided!
Registration for this session is helpful for space and food purposes. Please email Shawn Loner (scloner@syr.edu) to RSVP.
