Diversity and Inclusion
A Pedagogical Workshop on Promoting Linguistic Diversity in College Classrooms
December 18, 2024 at 1:00pm – 2:15pm EST
Bird Library, 550
Linguistic diversity in college classrooms is an asset that can enrich the learning experience for both students and faculty. However, it also raises the question: how can we facilitate learning environments that cultivate openness to dialects, accents, and languages students bring with them to the classroom? This workshop aims to empower faculty to promote linguistic diversity in their teaching practices. Through interactive discussions, activities, and resources, participants will gain practical strategies for creating inclusive learning environments that celebrate linguistic diversity.
Snacks will be provided.
Sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition.
