The BioInspired Graduate & Postdoctoral Professional Development Program is excited to continue our workshop series on Intellectual Property and Innovation. This is the second workshop in the series.
For the high technology innovator, deep knowledge, understanding and hard work produce intellectual property, but you probably have many non-technical questions. How do I know when I have intellectual property? How do I protect it? What do I do with it once it’s protected? Understanding intellectual property’s place in innovation is necessary to ensure your ideas make it out of the laboratory and into the hands of people that need it. This presentation will cover why it is important to protect intellectual property, how it is used by universities and companies, and various forms of intellectual property protection.
Future workshops in the series include What I Wish I Knew as an Academic Before Starting a Company (March 4).
