“Snatching Joy: A Radical Black Feminist Digital Praxis” with Catherine Knight Steele

Join us to hear award-winning scholar Catherine Knight Steele, Ph.D., who will be presenting “Snatching Joy: A Radical Black Feminist Digital Praxis,” drawing from her book “Digital Black Feminism” and her article “Radical Intentionality.”

Steele’s scholarship is a groundbreaking examination of Black Feminist technoculture that looks at the intersection of activism, social justice, Black Feminist thought and technology. Her work is committed to forging new directions in Black Feminist thought and insists on the power of Black Joy. Steele is associate professor of communication at the University of Maryland – College Park and director of the Black Communication and Technology Lab, funded by the Andrew Mellon Foundation.
