Student Feedback on Teaching – “What Do I Do with It?”

Facilitator: Laurel Willingham-McLain, Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence

Getting student feedback can be stressful.  Sometimes it is hard to know what to make of this information and it is often wasted or ignored.  However, we can approach feedback analytically, use the findings to affirm what we do well, and take steps to improve other areas.  Learners provide important perspectives on teaching; learning how to benefit from their feedback is crucial to being an effective instructor.

This session is completely hands-on.  Laurel will guide a systematic process for examining actual feedback.

While a mock set of feedback will be provided to participants who don’t have their own, participants are encouraged to bring recent student feedback on their own teaching to analyze individually (not shared).
